Dele Alli: Tottenham Dominant over Real Madrid

Tottenham Hotspur mainstay midfielder, Dele Alli, stated that he was not surprised by the dominance of his team over Real Madrid

Tottenham Hotspur managed to conquer the Champions League defending champion, Real Madrid, with a score of 3-1 at Wembley Stadium on Thursday (2/11/2017) early morning hrs.

In the game, Dele Alli contributed two goals in the 27th minute and the 56th.

The 21-year-old praised his team’s performance and was pleased with the end result.

“It was a fantastic performance from us,” he told BT Sport.
“We know if we focus on the game plan and solid on the back line, we will get many chances, we are very happy with the result,” Alli said.

The England midfielder admitted he was not surprised by his team’s advantage because since the previous match Real Madrid showed a gap in their defense area.

“I’m not surprised (we’re dominant) We do not believe how much space we have at Santiago Bernabeu,” he said.

“We do not want to just compete with this team, we want to beat them, I’m happy to get two goals, but more important is the win,” Alli said.

The victory makes Mauricio Pochettino’s squad bag pocketed a ticket to qualify for the 16th phase of the Champions League.
