Battered rose from the smouldering ashes of the world’s finest Viking Metal act, Einherjer, but the resemblance ends right there. Battered is a new band, with a new sound. Thrash Metal from a new perspective.

As Allen Fry from NYC so gently put it “They are musically a thrash metal onslaught that will provide a great kick in the ass to the extreme underground metal scene.”

Battered was founded in February 2004, by Gerhard Storesund, Aksel Herløe, and Frode Glesnes. The same month as the same trio decided to disband Einherjer. In search for new troopers, the band engaged local bass axe-wielder Ole Moldesæther to complete the line-up. For a while…

During the recording of what was to become the first Battered album, Frode decided to give up his vocal duties, and focus on his guitar work. It wasn’t until the end of the recording session that the former band mate of Ole, Siggy, did an audition with Battered and everybody knew it instantly; this is the man! Line up definitively completed!

Battered signed with Tabu Recordings in October 2005, and the release of the yet untitled album is set to February/March 2006.
