FUCK CHRISTMAS with FUNERAL - 'From These Wounds' release party in Oslo on 18th Dec
Give Christmas and the cross (with the sad-looking unshaved bloke) the middle finger by turning up at the FUNERAL release party that same week!
Witness a dirgeful set by FUNERAL at Oslo's suggestive venue, Månefisken (www.maanefisken.no) in the picturesque area of Grÿnerløkka on Monday, 18th December (doorsat 21:00).
In the midst of the sepulcral celebrations, you'll also get to witness an exclusive performance by LUMSK - three acoustic songs from their forthcoming album, 'Det Vilde Kor' (music by LUMSK, lyrics by Knut Hamsun).
FUNERAL's album, 'From These Wounds' is out in Norway from Monday (4th Dec) in limited edition digipack first with bonus track 'Breathing Through You'.
The band has recently filmed their first video for track 'This Barren Skin' under director, Marcel Lelienhof's watchful eye. The video will also be ready in time for Christmas, though we doubt it will feature any of the images usually associated with this festivity.

FUNERAL guitarist, Christian Loos dead at 31...
Tabu Recordings regrets to announce that recently signed, Norwegian cult doom band, FUNERAL, have just lost one of their two-remaining founders.
Guitarist, Christian Loos was found dead in his flat on Saturday, 28th October. He was 31. FUNERAL had recently got back on its feet - emerging from a four-year hiatus after the passing of original bassist, Einar Frederiksen in 2002 - and recorded new album, ‘From These Wounds’ with a new line-up, featuring amongst others, MINAS TIRITH’s Frode Forsmo on vocals.
Drummer, Anders Eek, now the only remaining founder of FUNERAL and a close friend of Christian, released this statement on behalf of the band: “It’s with utter sadness and shock that I’m here, having to announce that my dear friend and band mate, Christian died in his home last Saturday. A goldsmith by profession, Christian was very passionate about both FUNERAL and our side-project, FALLEN and actively participated in the writing process of both bands’ recordings. He was a dedicated and creative musician and was very enthusiastic about the fact that FUNERAL had finally signed a proper deal with Tabu Recordings.’
On the imminent release of the band’s album, ‘From These Wounds’, Eek concludes: ”Christian would have wanted us to continue as a band, music was a driving force in his life and he loved the new record, ‘From These Wounds’. The album is a tribute to Einar and Christian’s friendship and craftsmanship throughout the years. Their legacy lives on with this forthcoming album and all that FUNERAL will do in the future.’
‘From These Wounds’ will be released on 4th December in Norway and on 29th January in Europe.

Tabu signs cult doom band, FUNERAL!
Norwegian cult doom band FUNERAL has inked a deal with Tabu Recordings.
Following a three-year hiatus and a personnel reshuffle caused by bassist Einar Frederiksen's untimely passing in 2002, FUNERAL continue the doom-spreading crusade that once earned them the label of "most depressing band in the world" with their new album release, "From These Wounds", via Tabu Recordings on December 4 in Norway and January 29 in Europe.
Constantly challenging themselves musically not to bind their offerings to pure funeral doom (a subgenre spawned by their earlier recordings), FUNERAL — including original members Anders Eek and Christian Loos — discharged the opera-oriented female vocals of Hanne Hukkleberg in favour of Frode Forsmo's (MINAS TIRITH) more somber timbre.
FUNERAL's trademark — dusky riffs and languorous rhythms, coupled with an injection of more contemporary, sensuous vitality — give new album, "From
These Wounds", a more mature and earnest, even accessible feel to the proceedings.
Recorded and produced by Kjetil Ottersen at Vektor Studio in Norway, "From These Wounds" — weaving melancholia-inducing riffs with sagacious lyrical content — makes the perfect companion during the forthcoming dark and grim months this year. Not for the faint-hearted.
